The course catalogue

Training for every role in your service

Three streams covering what your team is required to know, how to do the work well, and how to lead the people doing it. Plus the one we are uniquely positioned to offer: a fortnightly course rounding up everything that has changed across the sector. All self-paced and online, completed on shift or at home.

Every role · Regulation 168

Policy in Practice

A course for each of the policies you're required to hold: what the policy requires, the procedures underneath it, and who is responsible for what. Child Protection, Sleep and Rest, Anaphylaxis Management, Incident and Emergency, and the rest of the Regulation 168 set. Used on commencement, at induction and as a refresher course.

Educators

Practice Essentials

Not what the policy says, but how to do the work well. Child development birth to five, supporting a child who has experienced trauma, supervision and positioning, writing observations worth reading. Longer, modular courses taken to build capability rather than to tick a box.

Room leaders, nominated supervisors & directors

Leading your Team

The people side of running a service. Giving and receiving feedback, conflict resolution, difficult conversations with families, mentoring and coaching educators, and holding a team together through a tough situation.

Compliance Updates

The three streams above are the training your team needs. This is the one that keeps it true. Every fortnight our compliance team turns everything that has moved across the sector (amended regulations, updated policies and procedures, revised guidance) into one five-minute course: what changed, why it matters, and what your educators do differently from tomorrow morning. Your team stays across the whole picture in five minutes a fortnight, instead of reading every document themselves.

Written by our compliance team

The same ECTs, former directors and ex-ACECQA staff who update your policies.

Five minutes a fortnight

The whole sector, summarised, and short enough to be done properly on shift.

You can see who's done it

Completion recorded against each educator. No reminder emails, no spreadsheet.

Inside a Compliance Update

How we turn a regulation change into staff training

Every Compliance Update follows the same five-part shape, so your team knows exactly what they're getting before they press play, and nobody has to read a fortnight of documents to find the paragraphs that moved.

01

What changed

Everything that moved across the fortnight, in plain language: regulations, policies, procedures and guidance.

02

Why it matters

The reasoning behind each change, so it lands as sense rather than another rule.

03

What to do differently

The practical changes, described as something an educator does tomorrow morning.

04

The risk if ignored

What's at stake for children, for the team and for the service if practice doesn't move, stated honestly.

05

Acknowledge it

Each educator confirms they've completed it, and their record updates.

Where a policy update becomes trained practice

TrainingDesk works on its own, and it works harder alongside the rest. Regulation 170 asks the approved provider to take reasonable steps to ensure policies are followed, and an updated document nobody has been trained on doesn't get you there. This is where TrainingDesk sits in the wider engine.
